The history of Bautz combine harvester

The history of Bautz combines in 1890 when Josef Bautz, a blacksmith from Saulgau in Upper Swabia, established his own company. Initially, the company specialized in manufacturing machinery for processing grass and harvesting grain. In 1935, Josef Bautz acquired a plant in Hanau-Großauheim, where he began producing tractors. However, the outbreak of World War II interrupted production, and the production hall was taken over by the authorities. In 1958, Bautz introduced its first self-propelled grain combine harvester and initiated a partnership with the British company Nuttfield, integrating their models into the range of products supplied to the German market. In 1969, Bautz was acquired by the German agricultural machinery manufacturer Claas.
